I started riding at Elke’s when I was in grade 7. I had only ridden a couple of times before this and was a little nervous around the horses. But Elke helped me ease into things with confidence. I always had fun riding with Elke. There was always a good balance between seriousness and enjoyableness with Elke. No matter how many times I strayed from riding over the years, Elke always happily accepted me back. All the other places I have gone riding have always commented on my riding techniques and skills and I have always credited Elke for being such a fine teacher. Thank you Elke for all that you have done. My riding would not be the same without you.

I’ve taken four clinics with Elke over the past year and they have been absolutely fantastic! Elke’s approach to dressage follows the principles of classical training in order to help
your horse perform at his or her best. She focuses on developing strong basics, particularly proper transitions and precise movements. She has a very good eye and never misses anything going on between you and your horse. In her lessons, we always work on many exercises that I can work on, on my own with my horse.

The only reason I started riding was that Elke just happened to move to my town with a few of her Westphalian Warmbloods and it was something new to do. I started riding with Elke when I was ten and continue to ride with her every chance I get when I’m home. Riding with her has allowed me to progress in ways that are not always possible. Rather then just correcting me while riding she would give me time to figure out myself how to fix the problem. This way of teaching has allowed me to develop a “thinking” way of riding. I have now been riding for over 12 years with Elke and am currently a working student at one of the top Dressage stables in Australia. I’ll soon be home though to continue riding at Elke’s in the summer.Courtney

at age 28 and have never been around horses in my life. Elke is a great instructor from the very first ride to a professional level and an extremely talented horse trainer. Elke has helped me train my first and second horses from foals till they are ready for me to ride. Florentine had some major issues caused by accidentily over working her. Florentine was aggressive to horses and humans, did not interact with other horses, was possessive and was very angry. Elke helped get Florentine back to being a happy, sociable, ride able horse that I always wanted. I do know that I have limited experience with horses and I am learning every day with Elke. I am so happy to have met her and Florentine CB and Fidalgo CB are the most amazing horses to own.

I just wanted to say how lovely and well behaved the two horses I purchased from you are. They are sweet, kind, and very level headed. Everything I have thrown at them in the past two weeks has been taken with ease. I appreciate the excellent groundwork they received as youngsters and Felicity obviously had a great start under saddle. She has an excellent work ethic. You have done a lovely job with them.
