Back to Basics is a two day group workshop focusing on mounted work. For the safe participation in this workshop there are a few pre-requisits. You need a basic understanding of your horse, full control over your horse in a group setting and basic movements including halt, walk, trot and canter.
The topics covered will include resolving any potential issues that you currently have with your horse. You will learn how to strengthen communication with your horse and adjust techniques that have slipped off the radar. You will be given additional exercises helping you to work with your horse at home.
The group setting widens the opportunity to learn from and with each other. Not just will you learn about yourself and your horse, but also extend your knowledge about potential issues. The goal is to create an accomplished, elegant team with your horse and be successful in your pursuits.
Every accomplished rider knows that going back to the roots of training, in search of answers to advanced problems, can be an opportunity to solving an issue. The more you learn and the more your horse learns, the easier it is to forget about the basics. It doesn’t mean failure to take a step back, but humble understanding that sometimes the first stepping stone of problems lie in the past. The goal of these workshops are to correct the little things and fill in the blanks before they become a problem or create an unsafe environment.
